Ⅰ. Required Driver's License

  1. On Short Term Stay
    1. - Under the Geneva Convention, an international driver's license issued by our country is required
    2. - It is available only in the member countries of the Geneva Convention and is valid for one year from the date of issuance
    3. ※ International Convention of Geneva on Road Traffic (Year 1949) Member Countries : 98 Countries ― <Appendix1>
  2. On Long·Short Term Stay
    1. - Use an international driver's license issued by Korea, OR,
    2. - Use the driver's license after obtaining the driver's license of the host country

Ⅱ. Reference

  1. International Driver's License
    1. - Issuing Institution : Police Station (255 Stations), Driving License Test Center (27 Centers)
    2. - Required Documents : ID(Driver's License etc.), Passport (The information on joint use of administrative information is available when not in possession), Picture 1 (Passport Type)
    3. - Time and Fee for Issuance : Immediate, 8,500 Korean Won (Import Recognition)
  2. If you exchange our license for a license in a foreign country
    1. - you will need the basic required documents as below
      • ① Original Drivers' License ② Passport ③ Korean License Translation of the Language (or English) of the country in question and a Confirmation of Authenticity (issued by the Korean Embassy (Consulate) in the Country of Residence). ④<Country of Residence> ID, ⑤<Country of Residence> Residence Certificate
    2. ⇒ Most countries require the above documents and require other documents in detail, so it is necessary to confirm them through the Korean embassy in the country concerned
