The Korea Police Investigation Academy or KPIA is conducting ¡®Cambodia Forensic Medicine Development Course¡¯ from the 18th to the 23rd to support advancement efforts by the Cambodian police.

The course was developed at the request of the Cambodian government which had observed Korean police at work on the scene of a Cambodian passenger plane crash. 13 Koreans died in the accident.

The KPIA will provide specialized education on identification methods using fingerprint comparisons, dental and medical records, in addition to DNA analysis.

The KPIA hopes the course will help boost cooperation between Koreans living in Cambodia and local police, in addition to building a joint working system between the two countries¡¯ authorities to better protect Koreans.
